Rubberschoenen voor vrouwen

Vrouwenschoen naar traditioneel model maar van rubber/kunststof gemaakt. Op de zool staat "Seoul, Sam, Samnŭng [Mitsubishi] gomu". Vanaf de jaren 1920 kwam er een nieuw type schoen op de markt dat snel aan populariteit won onder de Koreaanse bevolking: de komushin of rubberen schoen. De produktie van rubberschoeisel betekende een breuk met typisch schoeisel tot dan toe, dat werd gemaakt van stro, hennep, leer of hout. De eerste rubberschoenen werden op 5 augustus 1922 gemaakt door de Continental Rubber Shoe Company (Taeryuk Komushin Kongŏp Hoesa). De eerste modellen hadden alleen een rubber zool met een bovenwerk van hennep of leer en werden 'gemaksschoenen' (p’yŏllihwa), 'economische schoenen' (kyŏngjehwa) of 'makkelijke, lichte schoenen' (kyŏngp’yŏnhwa) genoemd. From the second quarter of the twentieth century onwards, there was a new type of shoe that quickly gained popularity among many Koreans: the komushin, or ‘rubber shoe.’ Starting in the 1920s, the production of rubber shoes signified a break with the typical footwear, which had up to then been made of straw, hemp, leather or wood. The first rubber shoes were manufactured by the Continental Rubber Shoe Company (Taeryuk Komushin Kongŏp Hoesa) on August 5, 1922. Initial models consisted of a rubber sole with hemp or leather uppers and were called 'comfort shoes' (p’yŏllihwa), 'economical shoes' (kyŏngjehwa) or by the combined term, 'light and handy shoes' (kyŏngp’yŏnhwa). The men's model was shaped after the male kasshin, or ‘leather shoe’, and the women's model took the shape of the tanghye, a common variety of women's shoes.
